About the Role

DigitalOcean's Agentic AI organization provides a powerful inference cloud, Managed Agents, and robust Feedback systems that enable customers to run AI inference confidently at scale. We are looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive the execution of our Feedback Systems charter, ensuring seamless delivery across engineering, product, and operations.
As an IC3 TPM, you will be the operational engine keeping our highly technical teams aligned. You will drive planning and execution, facilitate cross-functional communication, and proactively clear roadblocks. You will dive into technical discussions with engineers and product managers, translate complex realities into actionable plans, and implement lightweight, automated workflows that increase team efficiency without adding administrative bloat.

What You'll Do:
  • End-to-End Delivery: Drive the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical programs across engineering, product, and operations teams.
  • Strategic Alignment: Partner with engineering and product leadership to define program scope, objectives, timelines, and success metrics.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate cross‐team communication and ensure alignment on priorities, dependencies, and trade‐offs.
  • Risk Mitigation & Unblocking: Identify and mitigate program risks, resolve issues, and elevate blockers swiftly to maintain program velocity.
  • Process Refinement & Automation: Implement and refine program management best practices. Build custom tools, scripts, workbooks, or automated reporting frameworks for greater efficiency and transparency, reducing administrative overhead.
  • Stakeholder Visibility: Track and communicate program progress clearly, ensuring stakeholders have visibility into timelines, outcomes, and risks. Translate technical milestones into clear GTM readiness signals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement and foster a culture of accountability and collaboration across technical teams.
Key Metrics for Success
  • Velocity & Delivery Rate: On-time delivery rate for critical initiatives and milestones within the Feedback Systems charter.
  • Blocker Resolution Time: Efficiency in identifying, escalating, and clearing cross-functional dependencies and technical bottlenecks.
  • Operational Automation: Measurable reduction in administrative overhead through custom tools, scripts, or automated workflows.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: High program health and stakeholder satisfaction scores, reflecting success in translating technical milestones into actionable GTM strategies.
  • Strategic Impact: Reduction in delivery risk/technical debt, and consistent achievement of quarterly strategic objectives (OKRs) and cross-team collaboration efficiency.
What You’ll Add to DigitalOcean:
  • Experience: 5+ years of technical program or project management experience within software, cloud, AI/ML, or infrastructure engineering environments.
  • Technical Understanding: Strong foundational knowledge of distributed systems, SaaS, or cloud infrastructure. Ability to translate between technical and business needs effectively and engage deeply with developers.
  • Tool & Process Mastery: Advanced proficiency with agile methodologies and modern program tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Smartsheet), coupled with the ability to design advanced dashboards, custom workbooks, or automated reporting frameworks.
  • Leadership Without Authority: Proven ability to lead cross‐functional initiatives, manage dependencies, and influence teams without direct authority.
  • Scaling Experience: Proven track record of managing technical programs through high-growth phases or rapid product iterations.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences (from engineers to senior leadership).
  • Organization: Skilled in managing multiple priorities, balancing strategic alignment with tactical, day-to-day execution.
  • Preferred: PMP, CSM, or equivalent certification; experience with scaling engineering operations, AI infrastructure, or cloud services.

You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance.
