We are seeking a Senior / Lead Quality Engineer to provide end-to-end quality ownership for Practice Assist, a critical healthcare platform. This role will lead quality strategy, drive automation and process improvements, mentor QEs, and ensure stable, compliant, and scalable releases. The position plays a key role in reducing production issues, improving release confidence, and strengthening overall QA maturity.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Own quality strategy and execution across the SDLC for Practice Assist modules
- Lead test planning, execution, and release sign-off for functional, integration, and regression testing
- Drive automation strategy and implementation (UI/API), including CI/CD integration and coverage improvement
- Act as quality lead for defect triage, prioritization, and resolution
- Perform and review Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production and recurring issues; drive preventive actions
- Support UAT, production releases, and post-deployment validation
- Collaborate closely with Product, Development, Performance, and Support teams
- Mentor junior QEs and promote a quality-first culture
- Ensure compliance with Optum QA standards, HIPAA, and PHI guidelines
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Software Testing
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (UI and API)
- Experience leading quality initiatives or providing QE technical leadership
- Solid expertise in manual testing, test design, and defect management
- Solid understanding of Agile, SDLC, and CI/CD pipelines
- Proven solid communication and stakeholder management skills

- Experience in healthcare or regulated environments
- Exposure to performance testing and production support
