About this opportunity:
As a CNIS Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, administration, and lifecycle management of Ericsson's CNIS-based infrastructure. This includes deep hands-on work in Kubernetes platforms, Cloud-Native networking, Rook/Ceph storage, and CNF onboarding for 5G core networks and telecom workloads.
Key Responsibilities:
☁️ CNIS Deployment & Operations
- Install and configure CNIS platforms on bare-metal or virtual infrastructure.
- Set up and manage ECCD/Kubernetes clusters using tools like Rancher (RKE2), CEE, or kubeadm.
- Configure CNI plugins (Multus, Calico, SR-IOV) and CSI drivers (Rook/Ceph).
- Manage Day to Day operations for CNFs including Helm deployments, scaling, and upgrades and troubleshooting for existing opration Issues.
Infrastructure & Storage
- Manage Rook-Ceph clusters and troubleshoot persistent storage issues.
- Monitor hardware health (compute/storage/network) and ensure infrastructure compliance.
- Support cluster high availability, resilience, and performance tuning.
- Syslog, PKI Knowledge and experience.
Networking & Security
- Hands on experience on SDI/Juniper/Extreme SLX switches.
- Configure pod and service networking, BGP peering, VLAN/VXLAN overlays, and L2/L3 IP planning.
- Implement and audit network policies, RBAC, and security postures using standard Kubernetes practices.
- Integrate LDAP/Keycloak/SSO for user authentication and IAM.
- Hands on on ESM.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting
- Integrate Prometheus/Grafana, EFK/ELK or Loki for observability.
- Use kubectl, ceph, and Linux tools for troubleshooting nodes, pods, storage, and networking.
- Analyse CNF behaviour during failures and generate RCA documentation.
- Use Netcool & OMC for monitoring.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 4-12 years of experience in cloud-native infrastructure or telco platforms.
- Strong hands-on in Kubernetes (certifications like CKA/CNCF preferred).
- Expertise in:
- CNIs (Multus, Calico, SR-IOV)
- Storage (Rook/Ceph, CSI)
- Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu)
- Networking (L2/L3, BGP, VLAN, IPAM, Juniper/Extreme Switches)
- Experience with:
- Helm, YAML, Git
- Ericsson tools: ENM, CENX, EO-EVNFM, OMC & ESM.
- Familiarity with Ericsson CNIS framework is strongly preferred.
