This role is responsible for driving viewer growth and Watch Time Hours (WTH) for Jio Cinema Bangla. The candidate will develop and execute data-driven growth strategies across various channels to acquire new viewers, convert existing social media audience, and retain users for long-term engagement.

 

What will you do?

  • Programming Strategy & Consumer Insights :
  • Show launch and promotion strategy for Colors Bangla and JioCinema. 
  • Generating insights and applying them to shows to dial-up relevance and relatability and thus create higher stickiness for the shows and greater affinity for the characters. 
  • Mining insights and mapping emerging trends in consumer attitudes, preferences, lifestyle, and behaviour that will help the team in staying ahead of the curve in terms of consumer understanding. 
  • Analysing consumer feedback on existing shows to accurately identify problem areas and provide sharp and actionable insights to the content and communication team. 
  • Use consumers insights to actively provide stimulus or thought starters for new show concepts - Identify gaps in content delivery from competition channels in the market & plough them back to Content Strategy.
  • Pull, analyse, and interpret viewership data to derive actionable insights.
  • Commission and undertake cross-platform qualitative and quantitative research assignments for the brand, new/existing shows, and campaigns on need basis.
  • Strategic acumen, strong communication and advocacy skills along with sound business judgment. 
  • Be an adaptable and reliable team player and contribute to the overall unit’s success. 

  • OTT-Specific Strategy 
  • Contribute to the development of OTT-exclusive content strategies. 
  • Analyze user engagement metrics on OTT platforms (e.g., watch time, completion rates, drop-off points). 
  • Support the development of interactive or personalized content experiences for OTT viewers. 
  • Contribute to strategies for leveraging OTT data for personalized content recommendations. 

  • Promo Planning & Strategy 
  • Planning & execution of promo strategy, prioritizing etc. with inputs to support programming/OAP/ Marketing for promos across TV and OTT platforms. 
  • Lead and own FPC planning, break strategy & on-air time management. 
  • Assist in planning content windowing strategies (timing of content release across platforms) 
  • Support in strategic/tactical planning, insights for media planning, support in brand solutions and integrations, etc. 
  • Support strategic and tactical planning initiatives for a unified TV-OTT approach. 
  • Closely monitor, track, and analyse all key channel health indicators on regular basis - viewership metrics as well as financial parameters. 
  • Work with Business Head & Marketing Head to strategize in future forward plans and Annual Operating Plans for both the channels.

Who should apply?

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as Media Studies, Marketing, Business Administration, or Communications. Minimum 8-10 years of experience in roles directly related to OTT platforms, General Entertainment Channels (GEC), or media industry.
  • Skills and Competencies: Proven track record in generating consumer insights and applying them strategically to enhance content relevance and viewer engagement. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret viewership data, consumer feedback, and market trends to drive actionable recommendations. Demonstrated strategic acumen with the capability to develop and execute programming and promotional strategies aligned with organizational goals. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively articulate ideas and collaborate across teams. Experience working collaboratively in a team environment, fostering strong relationships and contributing to overall team success. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, demonstrating flexibility in response to changing priorities and business needs. In-depth knowledge of OTT platforms, GEC dynamics, and media landscape, including trends and competitive insights. Proficiency in commissioning and analyzing qualitative and quantitative research to inform strategic decisions and initiatives.
