As a Wholesale Credit Risk APAC/EMEA - Real Estate - Associate, you will be based in Mumbai playing a crucial role in structuring, negotiating, and developing recommendations for new transaction approvals across a variety of products, including secured and unsecured loans, derivatives, and treasury products. You will lead due diligence and credit analysis to assess the creditworthiness of counterparties, making recommendations on appropriate structures, risk appetite, and client grading. Your role will involve structuring and documentation negotiations, as well as ongoing credit risk portfolio management. You will also be committed to personal development and fostering team knowledge by coaching and training members of the Analyst community. Your ability to balance a commercial mindset with a sound risk and controls attitude will be key to managing the Firm's balance sheet effectively.

Job responsibilities
- Demonstrate proactive ownership of your assigned portfolio of clients including borrower/market performance and acting as the main point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders for your portfolio
- Conduct transaction due diligence and credit analysis to assess counterparty creditworthiness
- Make recommendations on appropriate structure, risk appetite, and client grading informed by forward-looking credit analysis
- Lead structuring and documentation negotiations with the support of senior colleagues
- Balance a commercial and solution-driven mindset with a sound risk and controls attitude
- Commit to personal development and foster team knowledge through coaching and training
- Develop close working relationships with various stakeholders/product partners within the Commercial & Investment Bank
- Drive key initiatives and process changes by identifying limitations/gaps in systems, risk controls, and policies
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in credit risk management in the financial services industry
- Familiarity with the concepts of Credit Risk - how it may arise and potential mitigants
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish credibility and trust with internal business and risk stakeholders
- Ability to demonstrate good time management and clarity in thinking when dealing with multiple work streams in a fast-paced environment
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Knowledge of the Real Estate industry, their evolving investment strategies, and risks inherent to them is preferred
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications (e.g., MBA, Masters of Finance, CFA) would be highly regarded
