Unit Manager - Technology Services

Description and Requirements
A senior-level infrastructure technology engineer with extensive firsthand experience in various virtualized technologies including Distributed Servers, Enterprise Servers, and Storage subsystems. Proficient in the software development life cycle, patch management, application configuration automation, and orchestration engineering. Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization's IT infrastructure, encompassing application systems, containers, and cloud services. Additionally, tasked with developing and maintaining infrastructure architecture standards, policies, and procedures.
Job Responsibilities

• Engineer solutions and establish standards for APM and agent deployments, including optimizations and tunings per requirements.
• Adopt AppDynamics for usage in Cloud IaaS and PaaS models.
• Devise an authentication and authorization model for APM within a standard Client security framework. Develop customizations and automation as needed.

• Architect a universally available and scalable infrastructure with appropriate monitoring and alerting mechanisms.
• Manage opportunities for automated deployments to reduce operational tasks.
• Manage opportunities for integration of APM with other monitoring tools in the Client portfolio.
• Evaluate and implement APM Extensions appropriate for the Client's technology stack (e.g. Webservers; Messaging Tiers).

• Create, Test, and implement APM Agents for application monitoring.
• Collaborate with architects and development teams to ensure effective monitoring of applications.
• Design, configure, and automate scripts utilizing Python or develop automation with Ansible knowledge.
• Design and implement dashboards within the APM tool (Elastic) for increased collaboration of application performance.
• Advanced familiarity with change management concepts
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to message queues, message flows, and middleware components.

• Configure WebSphere profiles, cells, nodes, and application servers.

• Deployment and Administration: Manage the deployment of applications on the APM tools that include WebSphere, NodeJS, Java. ensuring successful and efficient monitoring of its services.
• Perform routine administrative tasks, including monitoring, logging, and health checks.

• Design, implement, and continuously expand AZDO pipelines. Ensure that the data architecture is scalable and maintainable.
• Gather requirements and business process knowledge to transform the data in a way that is geared towards the needs of end users. Maintain and improve already existing processes

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field

Experience

• 10+ years of total experience and at least 7+ years of experience in APM (Application Platform Monitoring), agent deployments, and implementation of APM Agents for Java and DotNet-based applications
• Experience in implementing monitoring solutions for on-prem and containerized environments.
