Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain live media transport services (satellite, fiber, IP).
- Handle real-time incidents, alarms, and service degradations.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.
- Manage redundant paths
- Coordinate with RF, Data, Teleport, Engineering, and Customers.
- Coordinate service provisioning, migrations, and maintenance activities.
- Provide clear incident updates, (pre- and post-incident reports).
- Ensure compliance with SLAs, SOPs, and change management processes.
- Use monitoring tools to track QoS/QoE, bitrate, PID errors, and packet loss.
Technical Skills
- Broadcast & Media: MPEG-TS, PIDs, PSI/SI, encoders/decoders, multiplexers, playout system
- IP & Networking: Fiber network, IP multicast/unicast, UDP/RTP, SRT, RIST, SMPTE ST 2022-7
- Satellite: Uplink/downlink, RF levels, modulation, FEC
- Monitoring Tools: NMS/M&C systems, ServiceNow (SNOW)
- Security: Encryption, conditional access systems (CAS)
Tools & Systems
- Media monitoring platforms (bitrate, TS analysis)
- Network monitoring tools (NMS, alarms)
- Ticketing systems (ServiceNow)
- Communication bridges and incident tools
Qualifications
- Degree in Electronics, Communications, IT, or Networking
- Experience in broadcast, media transport, or Media NOC operations
- Knowledge of live broadcast environments is a plus
Soft Skills
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to work in 24/7 shift environments and including public holidays
- Cross-functional teamwork and leadership during outages
