About the team

As a Tax Accountant you will be working with colleagues based in Pune and the UK to help manage the tax affairs of Worldpay outside of the US (OUS).

What you’ll own

  • Support the OUS team to manger the outsourcing of the corporate tax affairs, through the co-ordination of advisors, the sharing of relevant data and preparing responses to tax questions.

  • Management of the internal tax team payment process, working with the treasury team to ensure all 

  • tax payments are made on time.

  • Prepare certain national, state and local income tax or withholding tax returns.

  • Maintain correct and proper tax records.

  • Booking tax entries into accounting software and advising the business on the tax bookings to local entity’s books.

  • Prepares, reviews and files various reports for federal, state and local reporting as well as other areas of tax compliance (monthly, quarterly, annually).

  • Preparation of various tax forms, such as tax clearance requests, CbCR notifications, self-certifications (for CRS), CoR requests.

  • Provision of ad hoc tax advice, with the support of the direct tax team.

  • Monthly tax general ledger reconciliation of tax payments and the tax general ledger. Reconciliation of any year-end balances and recover any tax overpayments.

  • Maintains current knowledge of tax laws, updates and revisions and informs management of issues affecting WP, anticipating potential tax filing conflicts.

  • Assist with tax audits, requests for refunds for dual taxation, incorrect assessment and exempt property etc.

  • Monitors internal reporting software database for integrity and maintenance. Investigates and reconciles discrepancies.

  • Other related duties as needed or required.

Where you’ll own it

You’ll own it in Pune office. Please note that this is an office first position

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

  • Knowledge of general corporate and withholding tax concepts, practices and procedures. Good understanding of generally accepted accounting principles as well as company accounting policies, procedures and standards.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise and professional manner.

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems using learned techniques and tools.

  • Analytical and statistical examination skills, with attention to detail and accuracy and

  • Ability to understand and apply learned concepts.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish work to ensure critical deadlines are met.

  • Ability to create spreadsheets and demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and accounting software.

  • Confidentiality and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients and public.
