Sustainable Investments Senior Analyst, ESG (Mandarin)
Role Profile
The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is a leading provider of business and financial information on public and private companies globally. The Sustainable Investment data operations team provides Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) data that is designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating specific ESG practices.
We are hiring Sustainable Investments Senior Analyst, ESG Language Specialist to join our team in Kuching, Malaysia. This is a critical function in the Sustainable Investment team, ensuring quality of ESG data used by the investment community to incorporate ESG aspects into investment decision making and stewardship. We are looking for individuals with very high attention to detail and who can work under strict delivery timelines. Our ESG Senior Analysts are responsible for managing data quality for ESG data on a growing universe of companies and for ensuring quality and accuracy in all our Sustainable Investments ESG product offering. Besides ESG data collection, you are encouraged to be proficient in our ESG methodology and shall be involved in various training and guidance discussions. They should also handle queries and provide expert advice on specific content knowledge relating to quality concepts and techniques to drive improvement activities within the data collection team and Service & Quality groups.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Review and perform quality checks on ESG data collected from multiple information sources including annual reports, sustainability reports, websites, and other filings of publicly traded companies.
- Take ownership for data quality, accuracy, timeliness and completeness within the team and set efficient and effective implementations to meet the standards of quality, completeness and timeliness.
- To carry out data analysis or specialized tasks related to the ESG dataset.
- To tackle the responsibility of resolving client queries in a timely manner, with very high standards of quality of response and customer satisfaction.
- Identify and suggest ideas for reducing the effort spent on data collection and analysis by using automation or by process optimization.
- Develop and maintain real time methodology guidance and quality manuals.
- Work efficiently with peers, leads, and manager – both within the team as well as other teams in multiple time zones.
- Use technical and financial knowledge to make improvement to current data offering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Excellent reading, writing and spoken English and Mandarin language skills, to review data in both languages on daily basis.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work independently with a high degree of ownership.
- Ability to meet strict weekly timelines and quality standards established by the department.
- Ability to drive key initiatives and bring process improvements into day-to-day operations.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ESG factors and sustainability.
- Experience in client service handling and training.
- Additional language skills would be an added advantage.
