Position Description/Overview:
The Staff Data Engineer will lead our Unified Data Platform backend enablement for Patient Experience using Azure and On Premises SQL Server extracting data from our source systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Analyze, design, architect, develop and test software systems that simulate business processes and can be used to optimize and increase their efficiency, using various computer languages on Windows based platforms
Gather customer requirements and create high-level component level architecture. Confer with organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, oversee specific input and output requirements and format reports.
Write detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
Review computer system capabilities, workflow, and schedule limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
Serve as a key member in evolving and maturing our enterprise data strategy and capabilities at Press Ganey.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Technology degree or related field and 4 years’ experience as Staff Data Engineer, BI Developer or a similar occupation performing software engineering and related duties. Must include 4 years of experience with analytical solutions and data modeling in relational databases including MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL and Azure SQL DB; 4 years’ experience writing, tuning, troubleshooting complex SQL queries and SSIS ETL packages; 4 years’ experience with Azure cloud, including SQL databases, Azure Databricks and Delta Lake using Azure Data Factory; and 1 year experience with Python code, Functions and Spark SQL.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $116,584 to $172,000 per year. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.
