JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Sr. Technical Lead, Software Engineering would deliver value to customers through implementation, technical configurations, and providing technical recommendations and solutions to business problems. They shape and improve the experience of key Vertafore clients. They work cross-functionally across Vertafore, including Customer Support, Account Management, Professional Services, Product Development and Product Management to help guide the client. You will be hands on, involved in designing solutions and flexible services that expose core capabilities to different applications and user bases, and leading teams to achieve the vision through active mentoring, technical decision-making, and facilitating company-wide collaboration. All of this will be accomplished with cutting edge, lean-agile, software development methodologies. Core Requirements and Responsibilities:
Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:• Develop forward thinking, technical implementation recommendations that align with clients' business objectives.• Responsible for developing new features and supporting/bug fixing existing features• Responsible for finalizing architectural decisions.• Configure or design the required complex reports or integrations• Lead and mentor a team of .NET developers, providing technical guidance and support.• Create/Enhance solution designs• Troubleshoot issues across the whole stack - DB, applications, JavaScript, API etc.• Share what they know by mentoring other team members.• Closely follow industry trends and the open-source community• Provides input to the project plan or estimating the implementation cost• Develops implementation tools and processes on need basis• Should mentor or coach the team members.• Should conduct reviews and deliver demos to team and/or customers.• Troubleshoot/root cause analysis to the customer challenges and helps in resolving them• Requires to be a release engineer to ensure all the configurations to be deployed in all the implementation environments and maintain the health of the environments.• Work on performance issues that come across during the customer experience and ensure to implement the changes required• Need to ensure all the committed timelines are met as defined• Need to be able to coordinate with other teams across the Vertafore/Vendor(s) to ensure that the task which requires investigation are completed on time• Share what they know by mentoring other team members Closely follow industry trends and the open-source community
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Proficiency in SOLID Principles, Coding Standards, Design Principles and Design Patterns.• Proficiency in software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and DevOps.• In-depth knowledge of the .NET framework, including .NET Core, ASP.NET, C#, and Entity Framework.• Strong understanding of SQL Server, including database design, optimization, indexing, and query performance tuning.• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular or React.• Familiarity with RabbitMQ or other message-queuing mechanisms.• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).• Expertise in relational database concepts, normalization, and transaction management• Knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-native development.• Care about quality and know what it means to ship high quality code• Curious and avid learners• Communicate clearly to explain and defend design decisions• Self-motivated and excellent problem-solvers• Driven to improve, personally and professionally• Mentor and inspire others to raise the bar for everyone around them• Collaborate with their peers, designing pragmatic solutions• Operate best in a fast-paced, flexible work environment• Prepare technical training and information sessions for other staff
Qualifications:• Have an intense passion for building software and mentoring their teams• Are very strong in both design and implementation at an enterprise level• 9 to 10 years of professional experience with .NET and common frameworks• Can work advanced database magic with relational databases esp. with SQL Server.• Are in-tune with high performance and high availability design/programming• Have experience in security best practices for software and data platforms• Design 'perfect-fit' solutions with engineering teams and business units to drive business growth and customer delight• Enjoy solving problems through the entire application stack• Are interested and capable of learning other programming languages as needed.

Commission plans are tailored to each sales role but common components include quota, MBO's and ABPMs. Salespeople receive their formal compensation plan within 30 days of hire.
