JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Sr. Technical Lead, Software Engineering would deliver value to customers through implementation, technical configurations, and providing technical recommendations and solutions to business problems. They shape and improve the experience of key Vertafore clients. They work cross-functionally across Vertafore, including Customer Support, Account Management, Professional Services, Product Development and Product Management to help guide the client. You will be hands on, involved in designing solutions and flexible services that expose core capabilities to different applications and user bases, and leading teams to achieve the vision through active mentoring, technical decision-making, and facilitating company-wide collaboration. All of this will be accomplished with cutting edge, lean-agile, software development methodologies. Core Requirements and Responsibilities:
Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:• Develop forward thinking, technical implementation recommendations that align with clients' business objectives.• Work with Product Managers, Designers, and other stakeholders to translate business goals into technical solutions• Configure or design the required complex reports or integrations• Provides input into the project plan or estimating the implementation cost• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, foster skill development, and enhance team productivity.• Able to conduct reviews and deliver demos to team and/or customers.• Troubleshoot/root cause analysis to the customer challenges and helps in resolving them• Requires to be a release engineer to ensure all the configurations to be deployed in all the implementation environments and maintain the health of the environment.• Work on performance issues that come across during customer experience and ensure to implement the changes required• Need to ensure all the committed timelines are met as defined• Need to be able to coordinate with other teams across the Vertafore/Vendor(s) to ensure that the task which requires investigation is completed on time• Share what they know by mentoring other team members Closely follow industry trends and the open-source community
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Set technical vision, define architecture, ensure best practices, and drive innovation for product features• Deep Knowledge of .NET 4.6/8, C#, Web API development, WCF services, Console Apps, design patterns, SOLID principles, SQL Server, Git, GitLab, CI/CD• Deep Knowledge of .NET 4.6+/8, C#, Web API development (REST), WCF services (SOAP), Console Apps, design patterns, SOLID principles, SQL Server, Git, GitLab, CI/CD• SQL Server (queries, indexing, performance optimization)• NUnit, Playwright for unit testing• Solid understanding of API versioning, authentication/authorization (OAuth2, JWT, SAML, etc.)• Knowledge of TLS / SSL Certificates, ADFS, Relying Parties, Active Directory• Basic knowledge of AWS, managing EC2 instances. Any AWS Certification will be a huge plus.• Exposure to AI based Tools and / or GitHub CoPilot• Knowledge of PowerShell scripts, Terraform• Able to troubleshoot networking issues.• Strong mentorship, problem-solving, and decision-making• Communicate clearly to explain and defend design decisions• Oversee development lifecycle, manage technical risks, ensure timely delivery, and resolve complex issues• Align technical efforts with overall product strategy and business objectives• Driven to improve, personally and professionally• Mentor and inspire others to raise the bar for everyone around them• Establish coding standards, implement QA processes, optimize performance, and ensure system stability• Collaborate with their peers, designing pragmatic solutions• Operate best in a fast-paced, flexible work environment• Prepare technical training and information sessions for other staff
Qualifications:• Have an intense passion for building software and mentoring their teams• Are very strong in both design and implementation at an enterprise level• 8 to 10 years of professional experience as a Full Stack Developer with mandatory strong back-end skills in .Net and optional skills in React but interested in picking up on React also• Proficiency in Agile/Scrum• Are in-tune with high performance and high availability design/programming• Have experience in security best practices for software and data platforms• Design 'perfect-fit' solutions with engineering teams and business units to drive business growth and customer satisfaction• Enjoy solving problems through the entire application stack• Are interested and capable of learning other programming languages as needed.
