About the Job
As a Senior Software Developer, you will be a key contributor to our Software Development team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
You will be working with various departments to implement critical applications that will improve the organization’s manufacturing efficiency and impact the bottom line. You will also be responsible for new project research and development. You must have strong organizational skills and the ability to work without direct supervision.
The Work
- Software Development:
- Lead the design and development of complex software applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in accordance with industry best practices
- Experience in the different phases of the Software Development Lifecycle
- Ensure software development, deployment, and management is done according to department policy
- Testing and deployment of applications as required. o Integration of internal applications with third party software
- Rewrite legacy internal applications on a modern technology stack
- Software Maintenance:
- Proactive monitoring and support of internal applications
- Respond to and resolve requests (bug report, new feature) from users within defined
- SLAs Training or directing users on the correct use of software applications
- Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning
- Architecture and Design:
- Contribute to the architecture and design of software systems, making informed decisions about technology stacks, frameworks, and design patterns
- Review and evaluate code contributions to ensure adherence to design principles and coding standards
- Code Reviews:
- Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain code quality, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with coding standards
- Problem Solving:
- Analyze complex technical problems and propose innovative solutions, considering factors such as performance, security, and usability
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality software solutions
- Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture, design specifications, and developer guides
- Continuous Improvement:
- Actively participate in process improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing enhancements to development workflows and methodologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
- Proven experience as a Senior Software Developer, demonstrating leadership and technical expertise
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages, with a strong foundation in languages such as Java, C#, .NET, or JavaScript
- Experience designing and developing Web Services and APIs
- Experience with MSSQL Server or similar relational database
- Experience developing desktop applications is a plus
- Experience with modern software development frameworks and tools
- In-depth knowledge of software architecture, design principles, and patterns
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
