Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer based in Canada. This is a remote-first role, offering flexibility while collaborating with a globally distributed team.
Important: This position is open only to Canadian permanent residents. We do not accept candidates requiring work visas.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in CI/CD automation, AWS cloud infrastructure, and automated testing frameworks such as Selenium and XRAY. Familiarity with Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) practices and Gherkin syntax is required to bridge development and QA processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Bitbucket Pipelines.
Manage, automate, and optimize AWS infrastructure (ECS, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) using Infrastructure-as-Code tools like AWS CDK and Terraform.
Integrate and maintain automated testing frameworks using Selenium and XRAY, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
Collaborate with Development and QA teams to implement BDD practices using Gherkin syntax.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues, and maintain robust observability using Sentry and SumoLogic.
Implement and maintain security and vulnerability scanning workflows using Snyk.
Promote DevOps best practices, automation, and continuous improvement across teams.
Ensure security best practices in CI/CD workflows, cloud infrastructure, and automated testing pipelines.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer in cloud-centric environments.
Hands-on experience with Jenkins and Bitbucket Pipelines.
Proven experience with AWS services (ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, etc.).
Expertise in Selenium for test automation and CI integration.
Experience with XRAY Test Management (Jira integration preferred).
Solid understanding and practical experience with BDD and Gherkin syntax.
Familiarity with Snyk and other security/vulnerability scanning tools.
Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Sentry and SumoLogic.
Proficiency in scripting languages: Python, Groovy, Bash, etc.
Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code: AWS CDK and Terraform.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote-first, fast-paced environment.
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
