The Sourcing Manager will lead sourcing initiatives for network services, handling negotiations, supplier management, and collaboration with internal teams to enhance Dropbox's global infrastructure.
Role Description
Dropbox is seeking an experienced Sourcing Manager to join the foundations of our Infrastructure team. This person will be responsible for sourcing the network connectivity services needed to deliver the cloud infrastructure that will enable Dropbox to scale beyond our current 1 billion files/day stored by 700M+ users. This role will work with global network carriers to ensure that Dropbox has the network capacity it needs.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute a robust global telecom/network carrier services category strategy based on Dropbox’s infrastructure needs
- Own and lead commercial and contractual negotiations with suppliers. Drive the development and negotiation of RFI/RFP proposals for new and existing network infrastructure
- Responsible for maintaining sourcing pipeline and driving benchmarking data, strategy presentations, global budgeting and on-time delivery metrics
- Have region and market expertise to determine specific connectivity routes that meet Dropbox’s network requirements and keep abreast of current industry developments and trends
- Work closely with Network Engineering to identify the best network technology for Dropbox’s global network infrastructure. Lead project initiatives for Dropbox’s global cloud infrastructure network services including metro, long haul, and network colocation
- Develop new supplier engagements and partnerships to enable new network transport/transit/peering/colocation deployments and cost savings opportunities
- Lead Supplier Business Reviews to drive supplier performance and executive alignments. Build long term strategic relationships with key suppliers and industry experts
- Drive alignment with key internal stakeholders including engineering, operations, finance and legal
- BA/BS in supply chain, procurement, networking or equivalent with at least 5 years of sourcing experience
- 5+ years of experience in networking technologies
- 5+ years of experience in strategic negotiations obtaining services from network technology providers
- Extensive experience with contract development and supplier management
- Good understanding of domestic and global carrier networks
- Experience interfacing with suppliers and driving results with supply base
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required
- Supply Chain, Telecommunications or MBA degree
- 7+ years of sourcing and/or supply chain experience
- Experience in network/telecom field working at cloud service provider
- Experience working and partnering with suppliers at a global scale
