As a Software Engineer, the role involves driving end-to-end technical decisions for Envoy open-source component delivery across Nokia products. It requires close collaboration with product teams and open-source communities to architect, design, and guide development efforts. The candidate will manage technical requirements, oversee controlled software/hardware releases, and ensure smooth product evolution through proper documentation and change management. Additionally, the role focuses on maintaining quality standards, supporting process improvements, and contributing to swift issue resolution through the SW Care process.
Responsibilities- Delivers SW / HW build-controlled productions releases (EG main and update releases, service packages, maintenance updates, and customer design engineering).
- Applies and maintains quality standards. Participates in process and tools evolutions and improvements.
- Applies the SW Care process (especially emergency case handling) contributing when needed to the fastest problem restoration.
- An Engineering graduate or equivalent degree with 3+ years of expertise in one or more programming/scripting environments. like C++, Python.
- Deep knowledge on databases - RedisDB or Valkey or MariaDB or Cassandra. Should be able to understand the open source code, contribute to the open source.
- Should have very good debugging knowledge at networking, operating system levels details container and node levels.
- Exposure in DevOps, development in a Jenkins-based environment
- Expertise in container management environments such as K8S. Experience with dockers, HELM charts
It would be nice if you also had:
- Desirable to have demonstrated open-source contributions/penchant for open-source contributions, awareness on licensing, security & compliance aspects.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written desired.
