Our Story
TopDog Law is not your typical law firm. We're a nationally scaling personal injury firm built for impact and growth — owning the client experience end-to-end, from marketing and intake through litigation. We believe that world-class marketing, paired with exceptional legal talent and operations, creates better experiences and outcomes for clients and the business alike.
Over the past three years, we've grown 2–3x year over year, setting a new standard on the marketing side of the personal injury space and proving what's possible when strategy, speed, and execution align. Now we're applying that same discipline and innovation to firm operations, case management, and national scale — intentionally building the infrastructure, systems, and teams to grow without sacrificing quality, culture, or accountability.
We are a fully remote team that share trust, open communication, and a commitment to doing great work. If you love ownership, thrive in a fast-moving environment, and want to help build something exceptional, you'll feel right at home here.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Software Engineer at TopDog Law, you will design, build, and operate software systems that support critical business capabilities across the organization. You will own meaningful areas of the codebase, make sound technical decisions, and take responsibility for the quality and reliability of the systems you build. Working across product domains, you'll partner with Product, Data, and fellow engineers to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions — with much of our current work centered on Salesforce, including custom Apex, integrations, and operational workflows. As our platform evolves, you'll also contribute to building services and applications outside of Salesforce using Node.js, TypeScript, and Python to support new capabilities and long-term scalability. This is a hands-on role that values judgment, collaboration, and the ability to move work forward with limited direction.
What You Will Own
- Own features and services end-to-end — from design through deployment, operation, and ongoing maintenance — across both Salesforce and non-Salesforce systems
- Extend and integrate Salesforce-based systems through custom Apex and integrations, while contributing to backend services and APIs as the platform evolves beyond Salesforce
- Partner with Product, QA, and stakeholders to translate business needs into practical solutions, validating changes in UAT environments before production release
- Contribute to architectural decisions, system and API design, and CI/CD pipelines with a focus on scalability, reliability, and repeatability
- Improve existing systems by reducing complexity and technical debt, and identify opportunities to make things better — not just follow existing playbooks
- Mentor other engineers through code reviews, collaboration, and knowledge sharing, and participate in Git-based workflows including branching strategies and pull requests
What You Bring
Required:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including owning and operating production systems end-to-end
- Hands-on experience writing code within Salesforce environments, plus experience building backend services or integrations outside of Salesforce
- Strong understanding of system design, APIs, and data modeling, with the ability to balance speed of delivery against long-term maintainability
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity, driving work forward independently, and thinking critically about priorities and tradeoffs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset; experienced with Git-based workflows including pull requests, code reviews, and structured branching
Preferred (Nice to Have):
- Experience in a fast-growing or high-volume environment
- Comfort with ambiguity and evolving systems
- Experience in legal, professional services, or client-centric organizations
