Software Engineer II

As a Software Engineer ( Java, AWS, REST services ,Nice to have- Scala), you will develop backend services to manage the content infrastructure and repositories for the state-of-the-art Mapping Technologies at HERE. You will be part of an agile pod team that is developing geo-spatial processing, enrichment and transformation tools with the goal to source and process map content in an efficient, scalable and highly automated manner to generate and maintain the freshest and most relevant map.

• Analyze product requirements and design to develop efficient, re-usable, reliable and scalable software with quality conformance in an innovative and iteratively growing environment
• Implement tools to enhance both automated and semi-automated map data processing, involving backend/service-based software stacks, but also dashboard components for data tracking and analysis
• Apply and extend CI/CD tools and execute end-2-end ownership of your developed Software stack, including DevOps and testing aspects
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborate with Lead and Principal engineers on architecture, design, code and configuration reviews.
• Provide technical expertise for teams focused on specific software modules.
• Mentor less experienced team members on technical matters.
• Work with other engineering teams and internal customers to identify new opportunities, address critical needs and solve complex problems using your backend development expertise
• Become an expert at leveraging internal platform resources and APIs

You are a go-getter, with an eye for detail, strong problem-solving and debugging skills. You carry a Bachelors/master’s in computer science or related fields and have 3+ years of software development experience which includes:

• Solid experience in Scala/Java understanding of Microservices Architecture.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services, Spark, Splunk, Docker, Grafana, Prometheus, NGNIX.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms & data structures
• Solid and proven problem-solving skills in system design and troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge on SQL.
• Passion for cloud technologies.
• Proven track record of having designed and deployed large scale & low latency cloud based systems
• Familiarity with HTTP, the REST-principles.

The Platform Experience Workspace– Transform team is responsible for automated Map Making using the Platform Map Objects Model by providing Validations, Repair for BYOM APAC Map(GT Japan, China, S Korea),OSM and different Private Map Making Customers like RFS, Location World, HEMA, Roads, Amazon Middle Mile and many more customers to whom the PM team showcase the Map Making Product demos.
