Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide support for the Enterprise digital product team on optum.com, and other Optum sites as needed
• Create UI Design, UI components, and Visual Design elements as required
• Prepare and optimize digital imagery for web experiences, including cropping, resizing, color correction, retouching, background cleanup, and file optimization
• Explore emerging opportunities in the digital healthcare space and contribute ideas as needed
• Interpret insights (analytics, VoC, market feedback etc.) to inform design decisions and improve experiences
• Continually advocate for the user and ensure there is a shared understanding of the problems we are solving
• Apply and contribute to the UI Design System and reusable components
• Partner with product, engineering, and content teams to deliver high-quality design solutions
• Participate in design critiques and incorporate feedback from stakeholders
• Take ownership of UI design execution across features or workstreams
• Ensure designs are aligned with usability, accessibility (A11y), and technical feasibility considerations
• Maintain a design culture of simple, seamless interfaces and components
• Collaborate with other designers to ensure consistency and quality across experiences
• Support research efforts and incorporate findings into design improvements
• Effectively communicate design ideas, approach, and progress with stakeholders and team members
• Work across multiple projects and balance competing priorities
• Leverage AI-enabled tools responsibly to improve research, ideation, documentation, and design workflows while helping identify opportunities to increase team effectiveness
• Mentor and provide constructive feedback to other designers, helping elevate design quality and foster a collaborative learning culture
• Collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams, including partners across multiple time zones, while communicating design decisions clearly and confidently
• Partner closely with engineering throughout implementation to ensure high-quality execution through design reviews and quality assurance
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of hands-on experience with UX/UI, interaction design, or visual design
• 7+ years of experience working with multiple teams and competing priorities
• 7+ years incorporating user feedback in the design process (user research, NPS, Voice of the customer)
• 7+ years of experience with industry design tools (Figma, Figjam, Figma Make, Adobe Creative Suite)
• 3+ years of experience working in cross functional teams
• 3+ years of experience building and/or utilizing personas to inform design decisions
• 3+ years of experience presenting design work to stakeholders
• Experience applying and contributing to design systems and component libraries
• Solid understanding of visual design principles, interaction design, and usability best practices
• Proven ability to clearly communicate design decisions and collaborate effectively with stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
• Experience working in a large corporate or matrixed organization
• Experience using AI-enabled tools to enhance research, ideation, documentation, or design workflows
• Healthcare experience. Experience designing products in similarly complex or regulated industries including insurance, financial services, retail, telecommunications, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or enterprise software
• Familiarity with Agile teams, including sprint planning and collaboration with product and engineering
• Proven ability to contribute in a fast-paced, complex environment with evolving priorities
• Demonstrated solid attention to detail and commitment to high-quality design execution
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to alignment on scope, deliverables, and timelines

• Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within a dynamic design environment
