Job Description
We are seeking a self-driven Senior System Test Engineer to take on a vital role in our software development quality process. For this role we will be looking for someone with experience coordinating a team for on-site testing of hardware, coordinating testing with a global team of stakeholders, and skill in creating succinct reports that convey the health of various products. Additionally, you will help mentor the on-site team with automating repetitive tasks.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong familiarity with multiple programming languages (preferably C# and Python) and a keen eye for detail. You'll be expected to demonstrate thoroughness in test development and execution with a commitment to maintaining high standards of software quality.
This position is based in Vancouver, BC and the candidate must reside in the Greater Vancouver Area as you will be required to go into the office on a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Understand product requirements and customer usage to develop test cases
- Set up and configuration of test environments for the purposes of test case execution
- Define and implement automated tests
- Analyze, develop, design, and maintain software automation test scripts and tools for the organization’s products and systems
- Perform system integration testing of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency
- Develop, validate, and test software, firmware, hardware, and user documentation
- Assist in coordinating system testing for software releases
- Assist in resolving customer field issues on live, production systems and in lab environments
- Troubleshoot customer reported issues
Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical experience in quality engineering or software development
- B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Experience with code architecture and design - able to understand design concepts and ideals
- Experience using the following tools: Selenium, Playwright, etc.
- High degree of organization, attention to detail, initiative and personal accountability
- Must exhibit a passion for software quality
- Demonstrated experience developing tests including automated tests
- Experience working and testing in Agile development environments where change is constant
- Collaboration skills with the ability to work across functional software engineering teams
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently at all levels including verbal and written
- Ability to prioritize and make rapid decisions in a fast paced environment with multiple stakeholders
- Self-driven and acts with urgency and passion to deliver quality
Target Base Salary Range: 100,000 - 140,000 CAD
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
