We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Confluence U.S. team of Site Reliability Engineers. You will report to the SRE leader of Confluence and Bitbucket. Your teams will use software engineering principles to reliably scale the Cloud infrastructure that underpins some of our products and the products themselves. You're an experienced manager, coaching engineers and technical leaders that report to you, supporting them in their professional development to unlock their potential, and encouraging them to step outside their comfort zone to grow and excel. You'll also play an important role in our leadership team, working with other engineering managers, architects, and technical program managers to steer us by contributing to the strategy and helping determine the right problems for the teams to invest in solving.

To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $206,100 - $269,075
Zone B: $186,300 - $243,225
Zone C: $171,900 - $224,425
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

- Experience growing technical leaders and teams
- An enthusiasm for excellence and experience with teams responsible for running important production services
- Experience driving cultural change in technical quality and efficiency
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
It's preferred if you also have:
- 5+ years experience implementing reliability & scale principles and practices
- 3+ years experience influencing teams outside your own organization with data and insights
- An ability to foster an innovation culture in your teams
- 5+ years experience with large-scale distributed systems and microservices
- 3+ years experience developing a long-term strategy for a team of teams
