You will be at the heart of the teams supporting New Relic’s infrastructure and will work on a team that provides global service mesh and load balancing solutions. We provide these services on-premises, as well as using our multi-cloud infrastructure.

What You’ll Do- Design, build, and operate ingress data plane.
- Drive high-impact platform initiatives.
- Maintain and evolve our DNS and CDN infrastructure (NS1, Route 53) alongside the proxy platform.
- Design systems using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD) and ship incremental, safe changes across a large fleet.
- Participate in on-call rotation and bake reliability into everything you build.
- Own and improve team processes and use innovation time to bring your own ideas to life.
- Collaborate across Product, Design, and platform partner teams.
- 3 - 4 years of professional experience with Go or Python programming.
- 3 - 4 years of hands-on AWS cloud experience.
- Strong Kubernetes experience at scale.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling (ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar), building pipelines, managing rollouts, and integrating automated testing and safety gates.
- Experience with networking protocols, especially DNS, HTTP, gRPC, TLS, and TCP.
- You are comfortable, automating with market tools (Terraform, Ansible) or integrating systems using a high-level language (Go, Python).
- Experience with cloud load balancers (AWS NLB/ALB, or comparable)
- Experience with Global DNS Infrastructure (NS1, AWS Route 53), and CDN.
- You are excited, not scared, by very high throughput levels.
- You know when to deploy off-the-shelf solutions, and when something more bespoke might be required.
- You ship incrementally and often.
- You have a fundamental need to learn and grow in your work every single day!
- Experience with Envoy or comparable service mesh / L7 proxy platforms.
- Familiarity with observability tooling (New Relic, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry)
- Azure Cloud Networking experience.
