Position Overview
Autodesk is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Fusion Operations team. We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic about delivering innovative solutions aimed at providing a Device Independent experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of delivering and maintaining software infrastructure for web applications.
Fusion Operations is a manufacturing execution system (MES), providing real-time data for production management. It enables users to monitor, track, report, and even control the various processes and systems used to manufacture goods, from raw material to shipping.
Responsibilities
Plan production schedules to enhance the flexibility of job scheduling
Track inventory, monitor workers, and oversee machines to help optimize overall production efficiency
Manage product quality through production traceability to align with industry standards and regulations
Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure
Design and maintain automated deployment systems
Develop automation scripts and tools for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance to improve system efficiency
Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to streamline software development and deployment processes
Implement monitoring solutions, diagnose performance issues, and resolve system outages to ensure high availability
Use Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools to manage infrastructure efficiently
Work closely with software developers, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to align infrastructure strategies with business objectives
Maintain clear and concise technical documentation, ensuring knowledge sharing and process consistency across teams
Staying updated with the latest technologies and best practices in infrastructure engineering, continuously seeking opportunities for growth and improvement
Ensure infrastructure security best practices, compliance with industry standards, and proactive threat mitigation
Leverage cloud technologies, including AWS services such as S3, SQS, OpenSearch and RDS, for scalable and reliable solutions
Implement and manage continuous delivery systems and methodologies on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, testing, and production environments
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align on project goals and timelines
Participate in on-call rotation to support production systems
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
6+ years of industry experience building and delivering robust, performant, and maintainable commercial applications
Experience with DevOps tools like Jenkins and Terraform
Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS services such as S3, SQS, OpenSearch, and RDS
Proficiency in source control solutions like Git
Expertise in script languages (Bash, Python, Powershell)
Experience building infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation
Experience with build and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and knowledge of best practices
Strong understanding of security best practices and compliance standards
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and communicate effectively with peers, partners, and customers
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in a Scrum framework
Experience with database technologies e.g. Aurora MySQL
Understands the importance of providing reliable and scalable infrastructure to support the organization's applications and services, always considering the impact of infrastructure decisions on end-users
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Preferred Qualifications
Master's in computer science
AWS certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are a plus
Experience working with Spinnaker for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
Deep understanding and extensive experience in AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform environments, including deployment, monitoring, and operations
