SUMMARY
Q2 is seeking an innovative and passionate Senior Quality Engineer to contribute to building an industry-changing fintech platform. Based in Austin, TX, Q2 is committed to strengthening financial institutions and creating stronger communities. This role is ideal for an experienced test engineer who thrives on ensuring high scalability, reliability, and quality for complex products. You will provide leadership to the team, shaping testing strategies, driving efficiency, and mentoring others while continuously improving testing effectiveness. Your work will directly influence product quality across the development lifecycle, collaborating closely with engineering teams and other stakeholders to deliver dependable, high-quality fintech solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES• Collaborate with Engineering teams to define test strategies and approaches for automated and manual testing. • Design, build, and maintain resilient, robust test automation frameworks and scripts. • Create comprehensive test plans alongside development teams to ensure excellent code coverage aligned to user stories and use cases. • Develop detailed test cases with expected outcomes and execute them to validate functionality. • Log defects with diagnostic information and work with developers for proper triage. • Mentor and educate software engineers on test best practices and methodologies. • Contribute test effort estimates in Sprint/Release planning sessions. • Champion quality across the product lifecycle, ensuring compliance with security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy policies. EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. • 5+ years of specialized experience in automated testing of UI, API, Database, and Batch Jobs. • Strong knowledge of test plans, automation, test methodologies, and test case management. • Hands-on experience with one or more programming/scripting languages (Python required, Selenium preferred). • Strong SQL knowledge and experience with complex, enterprise architecture. • Experience in working across multiple layers of a complex application stack. • Strong test plan organization and execution in CI/CD and Agile environments. • Excellent technical communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. • Experience with version control systems such as Git and associated branching strategies. • Preferred: fintech or SaaS experience, Azure experience, working with globally distributed teams.This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
