Essential Responsibilities
In this role, you will need to:
Understand product domain and functionality, translate functional requirements and specifications into lean documented test cases and steps, with an eye to do automation-first.
Cultivate deep domain expertise, be a go-to expert in automation testing & demonstrate great customer focus.
Actively contribute to designing and/or advancing an automated testing framework for V&V of product software epics, features and user stories for acceptance, functional, regression & performance testing.
Actively contribute to developing an automation strategy working with global team that embraces all supported platforms and targeted environments.
Actively contribute in evangelizing the use of test automation throughout the development process and mentor less experienced test engineers in the application & techniques of test automation across the development lifecycle.
Use test automation techniques that fit the problem space, contribute to automation reviews.
Engage in technical discussions, participate in technical designs and present technical ideas for review & consideration.
Demonstrate advanced skill in integrating project testing with continuous-integration process.
Display keen awareness of open source and commercial automation tools and knack for exploration and application within project as appropriate.
Identify issues, risks and dependencies escalating and managing where appropriate
Be open to perform manual/exploratory testing, when necessary.
Demonstrate an understanding of Agile software development methods and drive the advancement of test automation within the organization's development methodology.
Work closely with peers and engage with a global, fast paced technical design and development team to deliver tasks to meet product release goals.
Be aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines Qualifications/Requirements
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
8+ years of professional experience in Product Development and Testing, with significant automation experience.
Experience in end-to-end system testing and automation for small to medium complexity products involving hardware and software.
Experience working as part of teams following Agile Scrum methodology
Knowledge of Automated build and testing platforms (Jenkins, Bamboo, etc)
Deep knowledge of automated testing frameworks and languages (Appium, Selenium, ROBOT, Squish, etc)
Experience with testing products and mobile apps developed on tech stack involving C++, Qt, QML, etc
Strong knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Shell, etc)
Knowledge of testing both with and without a GUI (RESTful API, Web services, device farms etc)
Knowledge of issue tracking tools such as CA AgileCentral(formerly Rally) Jira, Bugzilla, etc
Strong knowledge of Distributed Version Control Systems (Subversion, Github, Gitlab etc)
Strong problem solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments
Expert in breaking down problems and estimating time for development tasks
Demonstrate clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions
Able to work under minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity
Able to work well with global teams, including timezone flexibility
Skilled in providing oversight and guiding team members in automation tasks
Desired Characteristics:
Masters Degree in Computer Science / IT field.
Knowledge/Experience of Healthcare products/services.
Holds an SDET profile
