Senior Principal Software Engineer
Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer with strong React.js and Node.js experience to lead full-stack development efforts for our next-generation applications. This is a hands-on engineering leadership role, ideal for someone passionate about code quality, technical mentorship, and scalable architecture.
In this role, you'll lead a team of four junior software engineers, guiding technical decisions, reviewing code, and fostering engineering best practices while staying deeply engaged in coding and solution design.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the technical architecture and design of robust, scalable, and secure applications.
- Lead and mentor a team of junior engineers, providing guidance through code reviews, technical discussions, and design sessions.
- Design and develop intuitive, responsive user interfaces using React.js.
- Build scalable, maintainable backend services with Node.js and Restify.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with UI/UX designers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to deliver high-impact features.
- Contribute to the maintenance and modernization of legacy ASP.NET applications (approximately 20% of the role).
- Write clean, testable code and participate in Agile sprint cycles.
- Document software designs, architectural decisions, and key processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across the application stack.
- Champion best practices in version control (Git), and CI/CD workflows.
- Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive software development experience, including:
- Hands-on expertise with React.js and component-based front-end development.
- Strong backend development with Node.js and Restify or similar frameworks.
- Proven experience mentoring junior developers and guiding project implementation.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and serverless computing.
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker.
- Understanding of modern authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., Entra, SSO, JWT).
- Proficient with Git version control and trunk-based development practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong collaboration in Agile development environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
