About The Role:
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and optimising our data infrastructure. You will be responsible for developing scalable data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and enabling efficient data access for analytics and business insights. Working closely with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers, you will help shape our data strategy and drive innovation across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Design & Software Development: Lead database design, cloud deployment (Google Cloud, Cloud SQL, BigQuery), and API integrations.
- Business Problem Solving: Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify, understand, and prioritise critical business problems that can be solved with data-driven solutions.
- Data Engineering: Build and maintain automated pipelines that move data from diverse sources into the data warehouse, ensuring data quality and integrity across the system.
- Scalable Solutions: Deploy scalable data solutions to production, ensuring their reliability and performance meet business needs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and business teams, to ensure data solutions align with broader organisational goals.
- Cloud Deployment: Implement and maintain data pipelines in production environments, ensuring they are accessible and integrated with other business systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess the performance of data pipelines in production, making necessary adjustments to optimise for efficiency, speed, and accuracy.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Set up monitoring systems to track the performance of data products and provide clear and actionable reports to stakeholders.
Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role, with a proven track record of end-to-end solution delivery.
Experience with building and deploying data pipelines and machine learning models at scale in production environments.
Demonstrated experience in moving data from multiple sources into centralised data warehouses.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
Professional certifications in cloud technologies or machine learning frameworks are a plus.
