We’re seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Product team. This role involves designing and implementing server-side logic, ensuring application scalability and security, and maintaining our technology stack, including Java, SQL, Springboot, and more.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for web technologies, a strong background in relational databases, and experience in a modern software development environment. You’ll work in a dynamic, agile team environment, developing features that impact users in the Canadian market.
Desirables
- B.Tech/ BE Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 06 to 08 years of programming in Core Java and with the Spring Framework
- Good knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and SQL.
- Experience working with Hibernate, Jenkins, Maven and CI/CD pipelines
- Well-versed in Test-Driven Development
- Strong hold on system design and architecture, and demonstrated experience in developing things from scratch
- Participate in all agile rituals, including daily stand-ups, iteration planning, story huddles, retrospectives, and creation of burn-up charts. Ensure that all work is captured in Jira.
- Supports and develops software developers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities
- Excited about working in a growth-stage startup, learning and solving problems without being constrained by current knowledge or experience.
- Experience building operationally critical services, especially in eCommerce.
- Responsible for mentoring a team of 4-6 Junior engineers
- Required to work with the development team in Canada (as per business needs)
