About the Role: DBRS Morningstar team is looking for candidate with strong problem solving, analytical thinking in the securitization space with experience in the credit rating process and basic understanding of SQL/VBA. Knowledge on Python is a plus. This role will provide unique opportunities for mastering the key aspects of our business including in-depth collateral and deal analysis. This candidate will also be responsible for conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis on the underlying loans and properties that collateralize ABS/MBS/RMBS transactions. In addition, will assist other Senior Analyst, analysts, and junior analysts on day-to-day task and will be the subject matter expert. This person will be responsible for building the teams competency and drive research initiatives independently.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze the credit risk in ABS/MBS/RMBS securities by performing tasks that includes reviewing deal documents, legal documentation, analyzing periodic data and setting up net cashflow templates and underwriting loans.
- Independently work with the global rating analyst in preparing rating committee note, rationale and building and maintaining various databases relating to underlying collateral.
- Collect, organize, and analyze data from internal and external sources for use in criteria development, ratings, and research reports.
- Willingness to dig deep into data, and build additional insights into the credit portfolio
- Maintain regular and open communication with the operations team and technology team about assigned tasks, priorities and ensure applications under development meet the defined requirements and pass the user acceptance testing prior to its release.
- Understand the domain and implement quick fix solutions to align the development activities with dynamic business needs.
- Mentoring and training Senior Analyst and Analyst
- Independent and decisive mindset; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; a structured working style with passion for deep diving into problems
- Ensure compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.
- Highly organized and efficient, with ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
Requirements:
- Postgraduate in Finance or CA or CFA charter holder or such equivalent qualification
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in capital markets, with in-depth understanding of Structured Finance Products especially ABS/MBS/RMBS, experience at a rating agency is a plus.
- Excellent writing, communication, and quantitative/analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate analytical thoughts in a crisp, concise, and precise manner.
- Creative thinker who is adept at taking an analytical approach to problem solving.
Additional requirements: (not mandatory) - Expertise in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), MSSQL. Knowledge on Python.
- Experience with REIS, Intex, and Bloomberg.
