This role will have the responsibility of performing remote and onsite vendor assessments. Ideal candidate for this role will understand/rapidly learn SEI’s business model and how key vendor relationships support it. Candidate should have experience in Information Security, Resiliency, and Privacy practices.
The Global Risk & Compliance (GRC) Team is SEI’s centralized unit responsible for identifying events or circumstances relevant to the organization's risks and opportunities, assessing them in terms of probability and impact, determining a response strategy, and monitoring progress against that response strategy.
Third Party Risk Management is responsible for identifying, evaluating, mitigating and monitoring the risks presented by SEI’s various business relationships with third parties through a corporate-wide Third Party Risk Management Program. A centralized Vendor Management Office administers the Program and maintains the tools, technology and reporting. We are currently seeking a Senior Vendor Assessor.
What You’ll Do
In this strategic and highly accountable role, you will be responsible for performing vendor risk assessments both onsite and remotely. Onsite risk assessments will include touring vendor facilities to ensure SEI policy, contractual commitments, and other best practices are being upheld. While performing remote risk assessments, you will review vendor submitted documentation, comparing against SEI Supplier Standard to ensure.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Serve as the responsible subject matter expert on vendor site risk assessments, focusing on data handing and security, resilience practices, and overall execution of SEI Policy
- Author risk narrative to communicate what key risks are for an engagement or vendor, and support why a certain risk level has been assigned
- Identify and document vendor deficiencies and vulnerabilities against SEI provided standards
- Assess remediation plans and non-compliance acceptances where standards compliance cannot be achieved. Validate evidence from vendor before findings are closed
- Identify opportunities for improving the vendor risk posture as well as SEI’s vendor third party risk management processes
- Use strong understanding of risk topics and 'risk mindset' to actively challenge inputs
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and benchmarking state-of-the-art practices
- Maintain desktop procedures as necessary to enable consistency in role execution and functional cross-training
What you bring to the Table
- 2+ years of demonstrated ability as an Information Security Risk Analyst or similar role, preferably in the financial services industry, must have experience with vendor onsite assessments
- Ability to execute on program goals, with minimal required assistance
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong knowledge of third-party assessments, IT risk management, regulatory requirements and compliance
- Fully proficient in Microsoft Office applications is required. Experience with Process Unity a plus
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Certified Third Party Risk Assessor (CTPRA) credential or the ability to obtain in 6 months is preferred.
- Desire to work in a hybrid workplace environment
- Ability and willingness to travel to vendor locations, primarily located in India
