About this role

The Aladdin Business Development group within BlackRock is responsible for developing new client relationships for the Aladdin Business. This includes understanding the requirements of prospective client organizations and leading consultative sales processes that demonstrate and highlight the value of Aladdin to the specific prospect organizations. 

The Aladdin Business Proposals Team within Aladdin Business Development is responsible for producing all Aladdin RFP/RFI/due diligence questionnaires, as well as strategic projects that make that function efficient and impactful. The Aladdin Business is recognized in the industry for its professional and high-quality proposals. Business Proposal professionals will develop a solid understanding of Aladdin functionality and workflows and must have the ability to think creatively to match up prospect requirements with Aladdin capabilities. The team also supports ongoing due diligence requests from current clients, as we demonstrate the ongoing value of our solution. Team members are expected to produce timely proposals to demonstrate how our services meet both client and industry requirements.

Purpose and Scope:

The Aladdin Business Proposals Team within Aladdin Business Development is seeking an Associate with experience in business proposal (RFP, DDQ, RFI, etc.) writing. The candidate will play a key role in implementing scalable proposal processes while coordinating and writing proposals. The primary focus will be on our Aladdin Enterprise and Aladdin Wealth products.

Role Description:

  • Managing the end-to-end business proposal process from evaluating and prioritizing an opportunity to submitting the final response
  • Writing high-quality, tailored responses about our firm, support model and Aladdin functionality
  • Leveraging technology, including AI, to ensure this is done efficiently and with accurate, up-to-date responses
  • Liaising with subject matter experts throughout the business to articulate Aladdin’s capabilities and value proposition in written communications
  • Oversight of central knowledge database
  • Proposing and implementing improvements to the business proposal process to increase efficiency, quality and success of proposals

The successful candidate would:

  • Develop knowledge across the full range of BlackRock product and systems
  • Help shape firm and product narratives
  • Collaborate with many teams across the firm and interact with professionals at all levels
  • Hold advanced project management, written and verbal communication, and client service skills

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the financial industry, preferably including new business proposal (RFP) writing for an investment or risk management technology company, editing, collaborative writing, and project management
  • Strong exposure to trade life cycle and investment operations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including internally to organize stakeholders
  • Outstanding academic achievement. CFA a plus.
  • Familiarity with capital markets instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives), Asset / Portfolio / Wealth Management’s business life cycle.
  • Organized, diligent and high-energy individual, committed to excellence
  • Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team and excel in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines while managing multiple projects
  • Demonstrated familiarity with using AI to its full potential while recognizing its limitations
