Job Description
Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET 2)
Function: Freewheel
Freewheel, a Comcast company, is seeking an SDET 2 to build and enhance automated testing solutions. The role focuses on developing scalable test automation, validating distributed systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Location: CIEC, Chennai
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for UI, API, and backend services.

• Create and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test suites.

• Collaborate with developers and product teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.

• Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and work with engineering teams to resolve defects.

• Contribute to test data management, quality metrics, and automation best practices.

• Participate in code reviews and continuously improve test coverage and framework reliability.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 2-5 years of experience in software testing or test automation.

• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks.

• Understanding REST APIs, microservices, SQL, and CI/CD practices.

• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with messaging services or event-driven systems.

• Exposure cloud platforms and containerized applications.

• Knowledge of performance or API testing tools.

• Experience in AdTech or media platforms is a plus.
