66degrees is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated QA Engineer with 3–7 years of relevant experience to join our innovation team of product development. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of modern cloud-native applications. You will build and execute comprehensive test strategies across UI and API layers while collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
Responsibilities- Translate product requirements, user stories, and technical specifications into scalable and maintainable test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
- Design and execute functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and exploratory testing across web and API layers.
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks and test scripts using tools like Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, and Cucumber.
- Validate APIs and microservices using tools like Postman, REST Assured, and Newman.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, and UX teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
- Drive shift-left testing practices by contributing early in requirement reviews, design discussions, and risk assessments.
- Log, track, prioritize, and validate defects while ensuring timely resolution in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Ensure end-to-end traceability between product requirements, test cases, defects, and releases using tools like JIRA, Zephyr, or TestRail.
- Integrate and maintain automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab CI to support continuous delivery.
- Contribute to improving product quality metrics, release readiness, and overall QA best practices.
- 4–7 years of experience in manual and automation testing for product-based web and API applications.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum practices, and quality engineering principles.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Appium, and Cucumber (BDD).
- Strong programming/scripting skills using Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience with REST API testing using Postman and REST Assured.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture, backend testing, SQL, and database validation.
- Experience building scalable automation frameworks and maintaining automation suites.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and release validation processes.
- Hands-on experience with Git, Jenkins, Maven, or similar DevOps/tooling ecosystems.
- Exposure to cloud-native environments such as GCP (preferred), AWS, or Azure.
- Experience working in fast-paced product engineering environments with frequent release cycles.
- Experience with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
- Exposure to containerized environments and orchestration platforms like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with cross-browser and cross-device testing platforms such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.
- Understanding of observability, monitoring, and production quality validation practices.
- Familiarity with modern quality engineering practices including shift-left testing and test automation strategy.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills across engineering and product teams.
