Your Team:
Fundamental Equities (FE) sits within BlackRock’s Portfolio Management Group (PMG), which encompasses Fundamental and Systematic investing across Fixed Income, Equities and Multi-Asset Strategies.
The FE business is a key division at BlackRock with over $260bn of assets under management, across 90+ strategies and over 200+ investment professionals. FE teams use traditional analytics to pick stocks and assemble coherent, deliberate and diversified portfolios. Through cutting edge technology, sophisticated models and embedded research, our investment management approach provides outstanding performance for our clients and is an important part of the BlackRock brand!
Your Role & Impact:
BlackRock has an opportunity for a Core PM to join the firm’s FE business in Gurgaon. We are responsible for a wide array of tasks within the FE investment process including equity order implementation, cash management, hedging strategies and compliance monitoring across the FE book. The role will act as support both vertically into investment teams within EMEA while also servicing the broader platform by administering key start of day or end of day tasks and order implementation for investment teams outside of the region.
Working closely with other members of the investment team, candidates should possess strong analytical and quantitative skills, as well as a proven track record to work in collaboration with a wide range of partner teams. Successful candidates will possess outstanding attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and have a passion for thinking critically.
- Keen interest in Investment process and implement equity, derivative & FX orders across a range of active FE strategies
- Monitor funds, Manage cash flow activity and overall cash allocations through derivative equitization, basket orders, and single-stock transactions
- Act as a technologist by designing, developing, and maintaining platform tools aligned with strategic objectives of the Core PM and investment teams.
- Serve as a problem solver by identifying workflow gaps and proposing scalable, automated solutions in a fast‑paced environment.
- Build interactive dashboards and applications using Power BI / Tableau / Streamlit to improve decision‑making and operational efficiency.
- Develop shared Python libraries, reusable components, and core data connectors to eliminate duplication and ensure long‑term maintainability.
- Actively document code, dependencies, and maintain logs for scheduled processes and automation pipelines.
- Use Git effectively for version control, including managing branches, handling code reviews, and maintaining clean, collaborative repositories.
- Own the data quality and reliability of key deliverables, including enhancements and new feature rollouts.
- Act as an Aladdin “super-user,” supporting tool adoption, training, and best‑practice usage across investment teams.
- Stay updated on markets, investment processes, and data flows to become an essential partner in generating alpha‑driving insights and tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or STEM discipline from a reputed university.
- 4–6 years of work experience, ideally within financial services or environments requiring high‑reliability analytical processes.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with an understanding of efficient design patterns.
- Experience with Power BI / Tableau / Streamlit is a strong advantage.
- Strong communication, presentation, and project management skills, with an ability to collaborate across global teams and time zones.
- Experience building automated solutions, including data extraction, transformation, and optimization processes.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot tools and the Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) is a plus.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, simple language for non‑technical stakeholders.
- Highly motivated, self‑driven, and capable of independent learning.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for working with data, preferably financial market data.
- Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn investment management concepts and technology frameworks.
