Our Edge Platform team takes ownership for planning, building, maintaining and operating our global platform. We design, develop and deploy critical technologies. This includes hardware, software and network infrastructure that provide the technical underpinnings for all of Akamai's products. Our team ensures consistent availability and performance for our customers.
Partner with the best
As a Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will design and deploy server clusters. Remotely diagnose hardware problems and facilitate server repairs, and manage Akamai's hardware assets. You will be managing a team of field technicians and working closely with external partners. You will also ensure the service we deliver is exceptional with our Internal cross-functional teams as well.
As a Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and responding to server, router, switch, and operating system alarms within defined SLAs.
- Troubleshooting network hardware and remotely manage infrastructure assets to ensure platform stability.
- Diagnosing and resolve switch, router, and network infrastructure issues.
- Supporting the resolution of high-severity technical incidents and operational escalations.
- Collaborating with field technicians, data centers, and partners for infrastructure installation and maintenance.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining monitoring alerts, runbooks, and operational documentation.
- Installing, configure, optimize, and automate network infrastructure using operational tools and best practices.
- WORKING SCHEDULE: 5 days on, 2 days off, including one or two set weekend days. INDIA: 7:00 am - 15:30 pm IST
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a bachelor's degree and relevant experience of 2 years in a similar role/domain
- Have experience in network technologies and basic knowledge of networking
- Have experience with with data center portals
- Have proficiency in network technologies and OSI layer 2 and a good understanding of OSI layer 3,4 & 7 (HTTP/HTTPS/DNS).
- Possess basic knowledge of bash/perl/python scripting in a Linux/Unix environment and SQL.
