Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Quality Engineering team. The ideal candidate will bring strong coding expertise, test automation experience, and system-level understanding to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of modern applications. This role requires a blend of development and testing skills, along with knowledge of AI fundamentals and cloud-native technologies.
Key Responsibilities
develop and maintain robust test automation frameworks using Java and/or Python.
Write clean, efficient, and reusable code to validate APIs, microservices, UI, and backend systems.
Perform database validation and testing using advanced SQL queries and schema understanding.
Leverage Linux/Unix command-line expertise for debugging, log analysis, and environment setup.
Collaborate closely with developers, DevOps, and product teams to embed quality into every stage of the SDLC.
Implement and optimize test pipelines within CI/CD workflows.
Work on containerized test environments using Docker and Kubernetes (basics).
Ensure proper understanding and execution of the QA life cycle, including planning, test case design, execution, and defect management.
Apply AI fundamentals (e.g., ML-based test selection, intelligent defect prediction, LLM-driven automation) to improve test efficiency and effectiveness.
Demonstrate innovative thinking by proposing new tools, frameworks, or approaches to improve quality and speed.
Conduct code reviews, pair programming, and debugging sessions with peers to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Required Skills & Qualifications
8+ years of Experience in SDET role.
Strong programming skills in Java and/or Python (object-oriented concepts, data structures, algorithms).
Solid understanding of automation frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, PyTest, Selenium, Playwright, REST Assured, etc.).
Strong database knowledge: SQL queries, joins, transactions, indexing, and query optimization.
Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix environments for debugging and scripting.
Knowledge of QA lifecycle, testing strategies, and best practices (functional, regression, performance, security).
Exposure to microservices architecture and testing of distributed systems.
Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes basics).
Understanding of AI/ML fundamentals and their application in testing.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to write high-quality, maintainable code.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
