Job Description
Position Summary:The Senior Underwriter associate review of all 4 C’s and calculate all liabilities of the borrower that helps in determining eligibility of loan applications of residential mortgage (1-4 family) loans. Senior Underwriter associate’s role includes but not limited to analyzing and verifying loan applications, review of all 4 C’s, evaluating risks and identify any red flag. Assist the other team members and resolve their queries. The incumbent ensures the accurate, efficient, and timely flow of information/documentation for offering quality and efficient services.Responsibilities:• Review loan files as per agency and investor guidelines• Analyze credit, income, and assets on a loan-by-loan basis to properly assess individual risk, and identify any red flag• Review property documentation including title commitments, sales contracts, insurance, and flood determinations• Maintain a well-developed knowledge of loan product guidelines and industry regulations, including assisting in the prevention, detection, and resolution of mortgage fraud• Review and analyze appraisals for value and compliance with industry requirements• Demonstrate the ability to independently make sound decisions based on the creditworthiness of the applicants based on established underwriting guidelines, policies, procedures, knowledge, and experience• Assisting the other team members and solving queries• Provide exceptional customer care (both internal and external) in a manner that satisfies the individual needs of each customer and builds loyalty to the client• Maintain confidentiality of all customer and employee information• Respond positively to feedback and redirection• Fully utilize systems, tools, training, and resources provided to maximize potential• Assist other departments as needed• Meeting daily production.• Meeting the daily SLA requirement• Meeting the daily Quality requirements
Qualifications
Qualifications Education: Bachelors in any stream.Experience: 3+ years’ increasingly responsible experience in related areasKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:• Experienced mortgage professional with 3+ years expertise as underwriter.• Has a complete understanding of underwriting guidelines. • Has working knowledge of real estate lending criteria and federal, state, and agency compliance• Can multi-task and manage time efficiently• Has strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and basic Microsoft Office skills• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.• Strong verbal and written communications skills.• Highly adaptive and open to changes as the organization grows and its needs evolve
