The Insurance Coordinator supports the management of global insurance policies, handling renewals, claims, and contracts, and liaises with stakeholders and brokers.

About the role .
You will support the management and maintenance of McCain's global insurance policies as a member of the Global Insurance and Loss Prevention Team. You will work closely with the Sr Insurance Specialist and McCain's insurance brokers and help to:
(a) Source information from McCain stakeholders required to support insurance renewals
(b) Manage the allocation; collection; and remittance of annual insurance premiums
(c) Ensure that appropriate evidence of insurance coverage is provided to external stakeholders
(d) Address questions on coverage originating from outside the risk management team
(e) Review contracts from a risk management perspective
(f) Manage insurance claims
(g) Maintain internal procedures, documents/records and training materials
Through your work you will be exposed to a wide range of stakeholders and functions at McCain. You will develop a deep understanding of the risks we face and an awareness of how these are evolving over time across a diverse global footprint.
What you'll be doing . • Collect, compile, and verify/audit information that is used to complete insurance application submissions. Respond to insurers' questions, ensuring efficient renewals for regular placements and project specific insurance (construction all risk, marine, etc.).• Calculate insurance premium allocations between McCain operating companies. Coordinate internal billings and direct payments. • Work with broker to ensure timely issuance of insurance certificates.• Provide support to ensure claims are resolved quickly by monitoring progress and dismantling roadblocks.• Apply knowledge of McCain's insurance programs and approach to risk to reviewing supplier and customer contracts from a risk management perspective.• Maintain a high level of insurance industry knowledge as well as a detailed understanding of our policies. Apply this knowledge to addressing coverage questions that can arise from all areas of the business and support continuous improvement of coverages.• Attend industry training and conferences as needed to build knowledge and stay ahead of emerging issues. Monitor insurance industry news, best practices, and trends through subscriptions to daily/weekly newsletters etc. • Occasional travel to various regions in the McCain global network to develop relationships etc.
What you'll need to be successful .
• Holds a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or other insurance credential(s) (e.g. CRM) or working towards obtaining one (McCain will support).• Knowledge of insurance operations, processes, practices and controls. Previous corporate insurance programs or brokerage experience is an asset. Minimum two years of work experience, ideally in a corporate insurance role. • Self-starter, with strong verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate effectively with all levels, regions and functions of the organization and external partners. • An individual with high standards who holds themselves accountable.• Analytical and proactive problem solver who is organized and able to manage large volumes of data. • Efficient time management ability, versatile and able to manage varying workloads and competing priorities.• Proficient with MS Office products.• Additional languages considered an asset (e.g.: French, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin)• Some international travel (10%) required.
