Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Encryption Engineer with deep expertise in securing data at rest using encryption solutions. This role is responsible for the architecture, deployment, and ongoing management of encryption systems that protect sensitive data across file systems, databases, and storage environments—on-premises and in the cloud.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data at rest encryption strategies and solutions utilizing our data security platform
- Integrate encryption solutions with enterprise storage platforms, file servers, structured and unstructured data repositories, and databases.
- Support data classification and mapping efforts to ensure appropriate encryption controls are applied to sensitive data assets.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, storage, and database teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of encryption solutions.
- Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and compliance posture of encryption environments.
- Ensure encryption practices align with security policies, data protection regulations (e.g., NYDFS, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS), and audit requirements.
- Develop technical documentation, SOPs, and support playbooks for data at rest encryption processes.
- Stay current with encryption standards (e.g., AES-256, FIPS 140-2/3) and the data security platform updates.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in information security with a focus on data at rest encryption.
- Hands-on experience with Thales encryption applications.
- Strong knowledge of encryption and data protection for file systems (Windows, Linux), databases (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.), and storage (SAN/NAS/cloud).
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements related to data protection.
