The Data Migration Engineer will design and execute data migration strategies, develop ETL pipelines, ensure data quality, and collaborate with teams to meet migration goals.
We are seeking a skilled Data Migration Engineer to design, execute, and validate large‑scale data migration initiatives across legacy and modern platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data analysis, ETL processes, database technologies, and migration tools, with a proven ability to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security throughout migration cycles.
Responsibilities- Design and implement end‑to‑end data migration strategies from legacy systems to target platforms (cloud/on‑prem).
- Analyze source systems and define data mapping, transformation, and validation rules.
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using appropriate tools and scripts.
- Perform data profiling, cleansing, and quality checks before and after migration.
- Execute migrations including mock runs, dry runs, cutover, and post‑migration support.
- Identify and resolve data issues, performance bottlenecks, and migration defects.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA teams, and stakeholders to ensure functional alignment.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare migration documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials.

- Proficiency in SQL and data transformation logic
- Hands‑on experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, DataStage, SSIS, etc.)
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and cloud‑native data services
- Scripting experience in Python, Shell, or PowerShell
- Understanding of data models, schemas, and normalization
- Knowledge of data reconciliation, validation, and audit techniques
- Legacy‑to‑modern or on‑prem to cloud data migrations
- Large dataset migrations with high availability and minimal downtime
- Familiarity with migration frameworks and best practices
- Experience migrating data to Data Warehouses / Data Lakes
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for data workflows
- Exposure to DevOps or DataOps practices
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Certification in cloud platforms or data engineering is a plus
