About the roleWe are seeking a Data Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in optimizing our enterprise SaaS business. This is a high-impact position focused on building and maintaining the core data infrastructure for our renewal and churn analytics. You will build data models that track renewal health, predict churn risk, and analyze renewal behavior to inform strategic programs and support renewal pipeline management. This work will provide proactive insights to our renewals, sales, and finance teams, directly influencing our retention strategies and business growth. The ideal candidate has a passion for building robust data pipelines and is eager to apply their expertise to directly influence business growth and retention.
What You’ll Do:- Develop High-Impact Data Pipelines: Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows that provide reliable, high-quality data for churn analysis, renewal forecasting, and customer lifecycle management.
- Optimize Data Models: Write complex SQL queries, develop efficient data models, and create views and stored procedures to support advanced analytics, machine learning initiatives, and reporting.
- Collaborate Strategically: Partner with cross-functional teams, including Revenue Operations, Sales, Finance, and Customer Success, to understand their data needs and translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Drive Data Accessibility: Ensure consistent and reliable data delivery for ongoing projects, maintaining high data quality standards, and building insightful dashboards, visualizations, and reports using Tableau.
- Innovate and Improve: Champion best practices and proactively identify new opportunities to empower the business with data. This includes evaluating and introducing new technologies, such as generative AI-powered analytics, to create a more efficient and impactful data culture.
- At least 5-8 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role within a fast-paced technology or SaaS company.
- Deep functional knowledge in the renewals and churn domains is a must. You have experience working with data related to customer health, contract renewals, and churn prediction.
- Proven expertise with SQL, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbt is required.
- Proficiency in creating compelling data visualizations and reports with Tableau.
- Strong understanding of data from platforms like Salesforce is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to work in a collaborative, agile environment.
- Experience with productivity tools like GitHub and JIRA.
