Data Engineer, People Analytics
What you can expect
Zoom is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our People Analytics team within the IT department. In this role, you will architect and maintain robust data infrastructure that powers analytics for our People Experience (PX) organization. You'll design scalable ETL pipelines, build optimized data models, and ensure data quality across multiple HR systems. Transforming raw people data into reliable, analytics-ready datasets that drive strategic workforce decisions.
About the Team
Zoom's Information Technology team is dedicated to delivering customer happiness, enhancing business efficiency, and fostering agility through innovation, data insights, and automation. Our impact is evident in seamless user experiences, streamlining processes, and supporting Zoom's growth in communication and collaboration. We deliver data infrastructure and analytics for Zoom's People Experience organization. Our team collaborates across IT and HR to build reliable, scalable solutions. We exist to turn people data into actionable insights that drive strategic workforce decisions.
What we’re looking for
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Bring 5+ years of experience in data engineering roles.
Demonstrate proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and analysis.
Apply 2+ years of hands-on experience with Airflow for workflow orchestration.
Apply 2+ years of hands-on experience with dbt for data transformation.
Leverage expertise in AWS data services and cloud infrastructure.
Bring experience working with Workday or similar HR systems is advantageous.
Apply knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is advantageous.
