About the role.
As part of McCain's digital transformation journey, we are making significant investments in our data structures, governance practices, and enterprise data capabilities to improve data quality, strengthen confidence in decision-making, and unlock value through the effective use of data.
We are seeking an experienced Data Access Governance Lead to join our Global Data Governance team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and operating McCain's enterprise-wide data access governance framework, ensuring the right people have the right access to the right data at the right time. The successful candidate will establish and maintain role-based access controls (RBAC), safeguard sensitive information, support regulatory and audit requirements, and enable secure and efficient data usage across the organization.
What you'll be doing.
  • Define and maintain enterprise data access governance policies, standards, and RBAC frameworks aligned to data classification and sensitivity levels.
  • Design and govern role and entitlement models that align business responsibilities with appropriate data access rights while minimizing access sprawl.
  • Ensure access governance frameworks adhere to segregation-of-duties and least-privilege principles.
  • Partner with data platform, engineering, and security teams to implement access controls across enterprise data platforms, data lakes, analytics platforms, and reporting tools.
  • Establish and oversee access request, approval, provisioning, and de-provisioning processes.
  • Lead periodic user access reviews, certifications, and recertification exercises with data owners and stewards.
  • Monitor and remediate access risks such as orphaned accounts, dormant access, excessive privileges, and policy violations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for data access governance inquiries, escalations, and stakeholder engagement activities across regions and business units.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing access control documentation, evidence, and governance records.
  • Develop and report on access governance metrics, risk indicators, compliance status, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Drive change management, awareness, and adoption of access governance processes across business and technology teams.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate access provisioning, monitoring, reviews, and reporting capabilities.

What you'll need to be successful.
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in data governance, identity and access management (IAM), data security, or a related discipline within a large and complex organization.
  • Strong understanding of role-based access control (RBAC), attribute-based access control (ABAC), and enterprise access governance frameworks.
  • Experience implementing and managing access controls across modern data platforms such as Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI, or similar technologies.
  • Working knowledge of data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements, including GDPR and related compliance obligations.
  • Experience developing role and entitlement models that balance business needs with security and compliance requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business leaders, and data owners.
  • Analytical and process-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail, governance discipline, and documentation skills.
  • Experience with data governance and metadata management platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra, Alation, or similar tools.
  • Experience designing and implementing automation solutions to monitor, govern, and enforce data access policies.
  • Ability to translate access control requirements from source systems such as SAP, Salesforce, and other enterprise applications into enterprise data platform RBAC and ABAC models.

Preferred qualifications.
  • Professional certifications in Identity and Access Management, Data Governance, Information Security, or related disciplines.
  • Experience working within global organizations operating across multiple regions and regulatory environments.
  • Knowledge of data governance best practices within manufacturing, food production, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or similarly regulated industries.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-wide data governance transformation initiatives.
