Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineer, your day involves creating tailored software solutions by designing, coding, and improving various components within systems or applications. You engage in collaborative environments that emphasize agile methodologies and modern frameworks to ensure the delivery of scalable and efficient software. Your work focuses on meeting unique business requirements through innovative and high-quality software development practices, contributing to the overall success of projects and organizational goals.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to perform independently and become an SME.
- Required active participation/contribution in team discussions.
- Contribute to providing solutions to work related problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver effective software solutions.
- Maintain and enhance existing software applications to improve performance and user experience.
- Document software designs, processes, and code to support knowledge sharing and future maintenance.
- Assist junior team members by providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth.

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must Have Skills: Proficiency in IBM DB2/400.
- Strong knowledge of database management and optimization techniques related to IBM DB2/400.
- Experience in software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues efficiently.
- Familiarity with integrating custom software components within larger system architectures.
- Overall, 6 to 7 Years of Hands-on experience on AS/400 technology with good knowledge on DB2/400, CLP, RPG programming.
- Previous experience with operating system upgrades of system I, MQ series, Connect Direct, FTP and data restore would be an advantage.
- Able to debug and test the programs, Able to write SQLRPGLE and SQL, stored procedures would be preferrable.
- Good to have experience with Banking and Finance applications on AS/400.
- Able to interact with clients and different teams directly and should be able to drive the solution.

Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in IBM DB2/400.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15-year full time education is required.
