Automation Tech lead

As the Automation Tech Lead, you will be responsible for leading automation initiatives that leverage low-code/no-code platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform, AI-based tools, and Python-embedded workflows. In this role, you will work closely with the Data Science team to integrate AI-driven models, such as Microsoft Document AI, into automation solutions, transforming legacy ecosystems across global operations. You will manage sprints using Agile methodologies and oversee a blended team of permanent employees and contractors to deliver cutting-edge automation and AI solutions.

Team Leadership & Management:

• Lead a global team of automation engineers, both permanent staff and contractors, in implementing automation solutions using Power Platform, AI tools, Copilot, and Python.
• Collaborate with the Data Science team to embed AI models into automation workflows, enhancing the capabilities of existing systems.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to the team, ensuring best practices in both automation and AI integration.
• Oversee the technical delivery of projects, balancing AI implementation with traditional automation efforts.

AI Integration & Legacy System Transformation:

• Design and implement automation strategies that integrate AI capabilities, such as Microsoft Document AI and other pre-trained models, to optimize business processes.
• Work closely with the Data Science team to understand available AI models, identify opportunities for automation with AI, and ensure seamless model deployment within automation workflows.
• Leverage AI models to automate tasks such as document processing, data extraction, and natural language processing (NLP) to enhance business efficiency and reduce manual efforts.
• Drive the transformation of legacy systems into AI-augmented automated workflows that align with the organization's global objectives.

Automation Strategy & Agile Methodology:

• Own the planning and execution of automation and AI projects, managing the backlog and sprint cycles to deliver on-time and within scope using Agile methodologies.
• Ensure that automation solutions, integrated with AI models, deliver high-quality outcomes that align with business requirements.
• Conduct sprint reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives to refine automation processes and increase the adoption of AI technologies.

Collaboration with Data Science & AI Teams:

• Partner closely with Data Scientists to incorporate AI models and machine learning (ML) algorithms into automation solutions, aligning technical implementation with strategic business goals.
• Utilize ready-to-use AI models, such as Microsoft Document AI, to develop solutions for document processing, intelligent data extraction, and similar tasks.
• Collaborate on the training and fine-tuning of AI models, ensuring that they meet specific business needs while integrating seamlessly with the existing infrastructure.
• Stay updated with emerging AI technologies and models, ensuring the team remains at the forefront of AI-enhanced automation solutions.

Global Automation Rollouts & Legacy Modernization:

• Lead the migration of legacy business processes to modern automated systems that incorporate AI tools and low-code/no-code platforms across a global landscape.
• Ensure that AI-powered automation solutions are scalable, adaptable, and meet the compliance and regulatory standards across different regions.
• Oversee the global deployment of AI-augmented automation solutions, coordinating with teams in different regions to ensure a consistent approach to legacy modernization.

Tool & Platform Expertise:

• Lead the development of automation workflows using Power Platform, Python, and AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Document AI for document processing automation.
• Use Copilot to accelerate development, embedding AI-driven code suggestions into automation workflows.
• Incorporate Python-embedded automation to support AI model integration and API interactions, enabling complex workflows.
• Establish and promote best practices for integrating AI models into low-code/no-code solutions, ensuring efficiency and maintainability.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in automation, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in Power Platform or other low-code/no-code automation tools.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience
• Used to large datasets manipulations.
• Familiarity with Copilot tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) for code generation and enhanced automation development.
• Experience working with AI-powered models such as Microsoft Document AI or similar tools, integrating them into business automation processes.
• Proven experience managing Agile teams, leading sprints, and delivering projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with global legacy system modernization efforts, and experience in migrating business processes to modern, automated systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience collaborating with Data Scientists or AI teams to integrate AI models into automation workflows.
• Expertise in developing intelligent automation solutions that leverage machine learning (ML) and AI models for enhanced process efficiency.
• Experience with Azure AI services, Power BI, or other analytics platforms that leverage AI for data-driven automation.
• Strong understanding of global regulatory and compliance requirements in AI-driven automation projects.
• Certifications in Power Platform, Python, or AI technologies are a plus.
