Department Description
The Securities Services F&BM D ata Solutions & Analytics team partners closely with Finance, Product, Operations, and Technology to deliver practical, high-impact data solutions for Securities Services. You will play a pivotal role in building and managing large-scale data applications, centralizing key datasets in our data lake, and enabling business teams to access, analyze, and act on information that was previously fragmented or inaccessible. Our work streamlines reporting, supports decision-making, and drives efficiency through automation and advanced analytics. We are hands-on problem solvers, focused on connecting data to real business outcomes and leading the transformation of Finance through technology.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Data Integration & Modeling: Connect and model complex, disparate datasets to unlock new business insights and enable advanced analytics.
- Analytics & Automation: Perform hands-on analysis using modern tools (SQL, Python, Tableau, Alteryx, etc.), drive automation, and solve challenging data problems.
- Project Management: Own the end-to-end delivery of projects, including requirements gathering, writing BRDs, stakeholder management, and program oversight.
- Product Development: Lead the design and buildout of scalable data applications and solutions for Finance, from concept to delivery.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product owners, and business partners across Product, Operations, Technology, and Finance to ensure solutions meet strategic goals.
- AI/ML: Initiate and lead AI/ML projects to further enhance data-driven decision-making and process efficiency.
- Foundational Impact: Set the tone for the team’s culture, establish best practices, and help define what success looks like as the data analytics function evolves.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Self-Starter: Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver results with minimal direction.
- Experience: 4+ years in data analytics, product development, or project management, ideally within financial services or a related field. Securities Services or a core Finance (BM or PnA) experience is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with at least one modern data analytics, visualization, or engineering tool (e.g., SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, R, etc.)
- Data Expertise: Experience working with large, complex datasets and building data models.
- Analytical Thinking: Logical, structured approach to planning, problem solving, and decision-making; proven ability to dissect complex problems and create clear solutions.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage projects, write requirements, and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and present findings to stakeholders.
- Process Improvement: Experience with automation, process improvement, or AI/ML projects is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications in finance are a plus.
